Like, what would be so bad about going back to the 1980's, as Nu Labour seems to suggest ?

I mean, I for one would rather have the Britain we had in the 80's than the Britain we have now. No Muslim terrorism, no war in Afghanistan that drags on forever with its weekly litany of the dead and maimed. No speed cameras, no one fingerprinting children in school. Police that actually used to tackle criminals instead of persecuting innocent citizens for perceived anti PC behaviour. No Harriet Harman. Councils that actually repaired potholes in roads. No climate change compliance officers. Most of all I miss the sheer easy going nature of the 1980's when you could relax and engage in a little light hearted banter without any danger of being reprimanded. Now you have to be so careful of what you say, particularly in the workplace. So do you think Labour backfired saying the Tories would take us back to the 80's. I think they did because I, for one, was a lot more happy and content then than I am now.
