Why are we fighting for (no renewable) oil when bio-diesel is a better option 100% renewable?

We murder people to have portions of the earths blood. Oil, non renewable will eventually be gone. Why are we not turning to bio-diesel faster? Maybe the earth actually needs oil in its crust and depleting it of it's 'blood' could have bad effects in the future.
