How does this poem represent India? Please help!!!!!?

Yes it does to me it is saying that those who come before are a part of the people and in so doing they become a part of the future for with each person it is said that we carry apart of them throughout all our lives in name in blood and in shame. They are talking about history and what it means to them and how it has effected their country and the people from this country how they have traditions that they must protect and keep safe guard against all enemies because others have spent their whole lives doing so and it is expected of them I think. Now I could be totally wrong so next
