Would it be possible for space travel if?

would this work? to travel through space we can use earth as our spacecraft by digging? imagine if say in china everyone dug into the earth and moved the unearthed dirt to the other side of the planet? eventually if everyone kept digging and putting the dirt on the other side,the earth would slowly shift over. or would this happen... the earth will eventually become lob sided causing a change of the location of the north and south poles. in turn would the earth spin out of its original orbit due lob sided warped spinning. either way were movin. free to explore other planets with our ultimate spacecraft. the earth. whats your say on the matter at hand? and how can we m enough people to do the job?
